Billable hours

Track billable hours without thinking about it

In Hourtick, billability is decided by task type: Design and Development can be billable while Admin and Meetings aren't. Every entry records whether it was billable when you tracked it, so reports and invoices stay stable.

How it works

  1. Mark each task type as billable or non-billable once.
  2. Set a project to non-billable to override everything on it.
  3. Track as usual; each entry snapshots its billable flag.
  4. Report on billable hours, billable share and billable amount.

Rates and amounts

Give a project an hourly rate and reports show billable amount and not-yet-invoiced amount for any period.

History that doesn't move

Changing a task type affects new time only. Invoiced history never changes silently.

Frequently asked questions

Can one entry be billable and another not, on the same project?

Yes — by using different task types.

Where do I see billable totals?

In Reports: totals, per project, client, task type or person.

Does Hourtick send invoices?

No. It shows what to bill and lets you mark time as invoiced.
