Frequently asked questions
What do I need to connect an AI?
For Claude.ai and ChatGPT: nothing but your Hourtick login. They sign in with OAuth. For coding agents and APIs: a personal token, or an agent token from Team → AI agents.
What's the difference between connecting an AI and adding an agent?
An AI connected to your account acts as you. An agent is its own member of the workspace: it has its own token, takes work from anyone on the team, and its time and cost show as the agent's.
Does it cost extra?
No. Agents, the MCP server and OAuth connections are included on every plan. You pay your AI provider for the model as usual.
Which MCP features does Hourtick support?
Streamable HTTP (MCP 2026-07-28, with a fallback for 2025-era clients), OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, Client ID Metadata Documents and Dynamic Client Registration, and bearer tokens.
