Hourtick for herdr

Your herdr agents, on your team.

herdr keeps your coding agents running. The Hourtick plugin connects them to your tasks, team chat and timesheets in one step: start an agent on a task, let it report back, and see the time it spent.

Terminal
herdr plugin install Hourtick/herdr-plugin
herdr plugin action invoke connect --plugin hourtick

Connect your agents

Finds the agent CLIs on your machine and adds Hourtick's MCP server to each, with its own command. You sign in once in the browser; no token to copy.

Start an agent on a task

Type a task number and the plugin opens a new tab in the same folder with your agent on it. It reads the task, works, comments, logs its time and moves it to review.

See the time your agents work

Measured on your machine from when an agent starts working until it stops, per day and folder. One key and an agent logs it to the right projects.

Ctrl+click a task link

A Hourtick task link in any pane starts an agent on that task.

What your agent does with a task

  1. 1Reads the task: description, checklist, comments and screenshots.
  2. 2Moves it to in progress and says in a comment what it will do.
  3. 3Does the work in your folder, and asks in a comment when something is unclear.
  4. 4Comments what it changed, how it checked it and what's left for a person.
  5. 5Logs its time on the task and moves it to review.

Works with

The agent CLIs herdr runs, connected with their own commands:

  • Claude Code
  • Codex
  • Gemini CLI
  • opencode
  • Grok Build

Private by design

  • The plugin never asks for, stores or sends a Hourtick token. Your agents sign in themselves and work with your permissions.
  • Agent time stays on your machine until you choose to log it.
  • It changes your agents' settings only through their own CLI commands, or adds one entry to opencode's or Cursor's config after a backup.
  • A few small Node files with no dependencies and no build step, MIT licensed. Read them before you install.

herdr is a terminal workspace for coding agents: it keeps them running in the background, shows which one is working or waiting for you, and lets them hand each other work.

Is the plugin free?

Yes. The plugin is open source, and Hourtick is free for your whole team with every feature included.

Do I need a Hourtick account?

Yes, your agents sign in to Hourtick to read and update your tasks. Creating one takes a minute and is free.

What do I need on my machine?

Can my team give work to these agents too?
