An AI timesheet that fills in the time you forgot to track

Connect Claude Code, Cursor or another MCP assistant and ask it to fill your timesheet. It reads what you tracked and what you actually did in Hourtick that day: tasks you moved or commented on, conversations, requests to agents. Then it proposes the missing entries, and logs only the ones you confirm.

How it works

  1. Create a personal API token in Settings and connect your assistant to the Hourtick MCP server.
  2. Ask it to fill your timesheet, or use the fill_my_timesheet prompt your assistant lists from Hourtick.
  3. It calls get_my_day: your tracked entries plus your activity with local times.
  4. It proposes entries for the gaps (project, task type, task, duration, a short note) and says what each is based on.
  5. You confirm or adjust. It logs only what you approved, and never changes existing entries.

Evidence, not guesses

Time trackers that "auto-fill" usually watch your screen. Hourtick never does. Your assistant works from things you did in Hourtick on purpose: a task you moved to In review at 14:10, 12 messages in #website between 10:02 and 11:40, the agent you asked about the invoice bug. Every proposed entry points at that evidence, so you can say yes quickly or fix it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hourtick track my screen or apps to fill the timesheet?

No. It only uses what you did in Hourtick itself: tasks, comments, chat messages and agent requests. No screenshots, app or website tracking.

Which assistants work?

Claude.ai, Claude Desktop and ChatGPT connect by signing in to Hourtick (OAuth); ChatGPT needs a Business, Enterprise or Edu plan for write actions such as logging time. Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build, Muse Code and Cursor connect with a token. See the setup guides under AI agents.

Can it log time without asking?

The built-in prompt tells it to log only what you confirm. The log_time tool only adds entries; it can't edit or delete what you tracked.

Does it cost extra?

No. The API and MCP server are included on every plan.
