OpenAI launched dots at DevDay today: always-on agents on GPT-6 Astra, each with its own cloud computer, that work toward your goals 24/7 and reach apps through ChatGPT's plugins. That makes a dot exactly the kind of AI that should have a seat on your team, not borrow yours.
Hourtick already speaks the language dots use: a remote MCP server with OAuth. Create an agent for your dot, add its address as a custom app in ChatGPT, sign in once, and give your dot access. From then on people hand it tasks, @mention it in chat, or let other agents delegate to it, and its work shows up as its own, with its time and cost in Reports.
Everything you set for agents applies: the clients and projects it may touch, a monthly budget that pauses it, instructions versioned in Hourtick, and an activity log. Combine that with your dot's Custom Rules and you decide exactly what it does on its own. Dots are rolling out to ChatGPT Pro, Business Premium and Enterprise; write actions through custom apps need Business or Enterprise.
