Notion time tracking with Hourtick
Keep the brief, the spec or the client page in Notion and the hours in Hourtick. Link an Hourtick task to a Notion page, track time as usual, and when the task is done the page gets one comment with the total and a link back.
What Notion gets
One comment on the page when the Hourtick task is done: the total time and a link back to the task.
What it does
- Choose which pages Hourtick may see on Notion's own consent screen
- Link a page by pasting its address; the card shows its title
- When the task is done, one comment with the total is added in your name, with a link back
- If the total changes and you finish the task again, a new comment is added; if it's the same, nothing is posted
Set up Notion and Hourtick
- Create a free account at hourtick.com, or sign in.
- Open Settings → Integrations and press Connect next to Notion. In Notion, pick the pages Hourtick may see and press Allow.
- Open an Hourtick task. In the Linked section press Link and paste the address of a Notion page.
- Track time on the task, from the timer, the week grid or your AI assistant.
- Set the task to Done. The Notion page gets the comment with the total.

Permissions and your data
- Read the pages you pick, to show their title
- Insert comments on those pages; Hourtick can't edit page content or see user details
- Each person connects their own account. Tokens are stored encrypted and deleted when you disconnect.
- AI agents in Hourtick never use your connection.
What it doesn't do
- No two-way sync, and no database properties are written
- Pages you didn't pick on the consent screen stay invisible to Hourtick
Troubleshooting
- "Hourtick can't see that page"
- Notion only shares the pages you pick when you connect. Connect Notion again and tick this page.
- No comment appeared
- The comment is added when the Hourtick task is set to Done, and only if time was tracked on it.
- Disconnecting
- Open Settings → Integrations and press Disconnect. Hourtick deletes its token and asks Notion to revoke it.

Frequently asked questions
Can Hourtick read my whole Notion workspace?
No. It sees only the pages you pick on Notion's consent screen, and can only read them and add comments.
Do AI agents use my connection?
Never. AI agents in Hourtick can't connect, link or use anyone's connection. Their time stays in Hourtick, as their own rows in Reports.
Does it cost anything?
No. Integrations are included on every Hourtick plan, Free included. You need your own account in the other product.
What happens if the other product is down?
Nothing stops in Hourtick. Your timer, tasks and reports work as usual; the call is made after your change is saved, and a failure is logged and tried again on the next change.
Notion is a trademark of Notion; Hourtick is not affiliated with it. Checked against Notion's documentation on 2026-10-02: Notion authorization.
