Hourtick for ai agencies

Time tracking for AI agencies, with agent hours on the task

If you sell work that people and AI agents do together, your time tracker has to show both honestly. Hourtick puts the agent's hours and cost on the same client task as your team's, keeps them off anyone's timesheet, and gives the client a report that shows a person checked the work.

Agents on their own rows

Billable like anyone's, following the task type and project rate, and never on a person's timesheet or approval.

Full cost per task

The agent's time and model cost next to the people's briefing and review time, with margin for admins, checked against the provider's bill.

A client report that shows the review

A frozen, read-only page with people's and agents' hours, the models, and whether a person reviewed each task. No rates, costs or notes.

The problem

  • Agent work that is either given away inside a fixed fee or hidden in a person's hours
  • No idea what a task really costs once review and rework are counted
  • Clients asking which work AI did, and whether anyone checked it
  • Per-seat tools that charge for every person you add but have nothing for agents

How ai agencies set up Hourtick

  1. Create a client and a project per engagement, with a rate and an hours budget; mark task types billable or not once.
  2. Add your agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok or your own) as workspace members and scope each to the clients it may work on.
  3. Hand client tasks to an agent by assignee or @mention. Watch the session, answer when it asks, and review the result.
  4. Agents log their finished time and model cost on the task; people track their review time on it.
  5. Close the month: check Agent outcomes, mark billable entries invoiced, and share an AI work report with each client.

In practice

A 12-person agency runs research and first drafts through two agents. Each client task shows the agent's 0:40 and $0.90 of model cost beside Sofie's 0:15 of review. At month end each client gets an AI work report, and the agency pays $0 on Free until it stores more than 500 MB.

Included on every plan

  • Mac menu bar timer
  • Timesheet approvals
  • Billable rates and budgets
  • Reports and CSV export
  • Invoiced locks
  • Offline sync

Frequently asked questions

Can we bill agent time to clients?

Hourtick records it as billable like any entry, at the project's rate, and you can mark it invoiced. Whether and how to bill it is a commercial and contract decision; see the billing guide.

How do we show clients that AI was reviewed?

Share an AI work report for a client and period. It shows hours by people and agents, the models, and per task whether a person reviewed or approved the work.

Can we limit what an agent touches?

Yes. Scope it to chosen clients and projects, make it read-only, cap its monthly cost or time and choose who may ask it.

Does it work with our own agents?

Yes. Anything that speaks MCP, including your own scripts, can take tasks and log time and cost.

Is there employee monitoring?

No. No screenshots, app or website tracking or keystrokes.

What does it cost?

Free for unlimited people and agents with 500 MB of usage a month, or $29/month for 5 GB. No per-seat fees.
